Description

The Battmans Heavy Duty Roof Thermal Blanket is made from Knauf Earthwool. It insulates and quiets spaces under metal roofs. It feels soft yet includes tough anti-condensation foil. This boosts warmth and saves energy. It also quiets noise, making indoor spaces more comfortable all year.

The blanket is green. It uses 80% recycled glass and ECOSE® Technology. This tech is safe and sustainable, making the blanket easy to handle. You can get it in various sizes and thicknesses, from R1.3 to R3.2 and 55mm to 130mm. Each pack comes in a dust and moisture-resistant bag. Clear instructions help installers use it right.

Extensive testing shows Earthwool made using ECOSE Technology does not provide a medium for the growth of micro-organisms nor does it rot, decay or sustain mould. Independent testing also confirms no attraction of vermin, fungi or insects, including black ants.

What the Earthwool roofing thermal blanket is for

This is a foil-faced roofing blanket built for the underside of metal roofs. You may also know it as an earthwool space blanket, a knauf roof blanket or simply a roofing blanket. The glasswool core slows heat moving through the roof sheet, while the tough foil facing works as an anti-condensation layer so moisture does not drip back onto the structure below. The result is a roof space that stays warmer in winter, cooler in summer and quieter through rain and wind.

Where it suits

The blanket is made for sheds, garages and homes with a metal roof, right across Melbourne and regional Victoria. It sits under the roof sheeting, which makes it a common choice for new builds and re-roofs alike. Because the core is Knauf Earthwool using ECOSE Technology and 80% recycled glass, it is soft to handle on site and free of the harsh binders found in older glasswool. How to choose your R-value

The blanket comes in six R-values: R1.3, R1.8, R2.3, R2.5, R3.0 and R3.2. A lower R-value such as R1.3 suits a shed or garage where you want to cut heat and drumming noise without much bulk. A higher R-value such as R3.0 or R3.2 suits a home or a heated workspace where comfort and energy bills matter more. If you are matching a plan or a building spec, choose the R-value it names. If you are not sure which one fits your roof, our team can talk it through before you buy. You can also compare it with the rest of our Knauf Earthwool insulation range.

How the blanket goes in

The blanket goes in under the roof sheeting as each run of cladding is fixed. If you are also weighing up a foil-only product, our reflective insulation and building wraps range covers those alternatives.
