Trade Select™ Sarking TRE is a heavy-duty, single-sided reflective foil laminate designed for use as roof sarking in residential and commercial buildings across Australian Climate Zones 1 to 8. It serves as an effective barrier against radiant heat, moisture ingress, draughts, and dust penetration. Classified as an Air Barrier, Water Barrier, and Class 2 Vapour Barrier, this product enhances the thermal performance of building envelopes by reflecting radiant heat when installed facing an air cavity.
Constructed with a durable four-layer structure—comprising anti-oxidant UV-stabilised woven polypropylene, 97% reflective aluminium foil, fire-resistant polymer adhesive, and a UV-stabilised polymer flood coat—Sarking TRE offers superior strength, flexibility, and puncture resistance. Its low flammability rating makes it suitable for use in all Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs) in bushfire-prone areas. The product is compliant with the National Construction Code (NCC) for pliable building membranes and sarking-type materials when correctly specified and installed.
Application:
Trade Select™ Sarking TRE is intended for use as a roof sarking in residential and commercial buildings across various climate zones. It is suitable for installation under tile and metal roofs. For cathedral or raked tile roofs in ABCB Climate Zones 4 to 8, Ametalin VapourTech® RWC Roof Wall Commercial is recommended for condensation and vapour management. The product should not be used in residential walls in ABCB Climate Zones 4 to 8.
